| This photo shows a rapidly freezing river. The water temperature was 29 degrees and the air temperature was in the low teens. Moving down river through the ice was not difficult since there wasn't much, but coming back 20 minutes later we found the river to be freezing rapidly. We learned that it wasn't a good idea to try to navigate through the ice because we ran the risk of not being able to get back. Ice like this can easily damage a boat and should be avoided. 2/15/2008 |
