This photo shows Lake Effect Snow
falling over a creek. The Air Temperature was in the low teens
and the wind was really blowing off Lake Michigan keeping the
wind chill at or below zero. When venturing out in these conditions
it's important to cover all exposed skin because frostbite can
set in quickly. Carry extra chemical heaters and keep them in
your gloves and boots. Also wear several layers of clothing.
Notice the Belted Kingfisher on the branch in the center of
