| Fish will often
congregate in the eddy created by a bridge piling if
there is current present. The trick here is to get a
bait under the bridge so it drifts toward the waiting
fish. Dropping a jig or other lure right on top of the
fish will not do the trick in most cases unless you
are using live bait. |
 |
| Live bait or
anything that will sink and drift toward a fish will
work here. Remember that the fish may run away from
you and cause your line to rub against the bridge piling.
Use the appropriate line that can withstand that kind
of abuse. Also remember that the bottom around many
pilings is uneven and may contain rocks, broken concrete,
metal, and other debris that your bait can get hung
up in. |
